Eligibility Criteria for Police Jobs – Competitive Exams – Selection Procedure

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts GD Constable Exam every year to recruit Constables in Central Armed Police Forces and Delhi Police. Apart from this, SSC also recruits Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police through the competitive exams. The minimum educational qualification for the post of constable is 10th Pass or 12th Pass and for the post of Sub-Inspector, Graduation Degree is required. The age limit for Constable is 18 to 25 Years and the age limit for the post of Sub Inspector is 20 to 25 Years. Age relaxation is given to the candidates as per the government rules.

Besides this, every state police conduct their own exams to recruit eligible candidates for various job profiles such as Sub-Inspector, Assistant Sub-Inspector, Constable, Jail Warder, Multi Tasking Staff, Data Entry Operator, Fireman, Deputy Jailor, etc. Job seekers with good physical standards and qualifications have chances to avail the post of Sub-Inspector and Constable initially.
