4 Social Media Strategies to Try in 2022

social media

Social media marketing. You either love it or you think it’s the biggest waste of time and money in marketing. It can be time-consuming, unrewarding, and never-ending. And at the end of the day, you’re not even sure if it’s making a big difference or not.

But, it’s almost 2022 and we’re still using it to try and move the needle. It’s still a part of our marketing strategies, we’re creating unique content in the attempt to go viral, and we’ve dedicated people (and maybe teams) to handle your company’s social media presence.

With that said, we were curious to learn what types of strategies are being used these days in an attempt to grow social media channels and find a new audience. What kind of strategies are being executed on social media to grow companies? And what platforms are people using?

We put a call out on HARO to hear from experts about what social media strategies they are going to try out in 2022:

(1) TikTok

TikTok has become the most popular social media platform throughout 2021 and gets more engagement than any other platform. People are obsessed with the never ending pool of content and brands immediately saw the benefit.

Brandon Hopkins, the Founder at DiamondLinks, is going to begin using TikTok at the end of this year, with the goal of making it a strong strategy into 2022.

“As an expert marketer, I have to look into every platform available to me. TikTok is making a lot of noise right now, so I will be checking it out to see what results it can bring for my clients and me.”

(2) Giving Influencer Marketing Another Try

Influencer got a bad wrap a few years ago because it was overused, overpriced, and nobody knew what they were doing. Many people thought it was going away, but it has stuck around and it’s still a viable strategy to use. When done correctly, influencer marketing can actually be very effective and beneficial.

Donny Gamble, Founder of Retirement Investments, has continued to use influencer marketing over the last few years and continues to tweak their strategy to make the most out of it.

“I’ve worked with influencer marketing for a while now and have had some positive experiences, along with some negatives. I found it all comes down to one thing: authenticity. The content has to be real to speak to an audience and that’s what I focus on when planning.”

(3) Video Is King

Visuals have always dominated social media, so it comes as no surprise that video performs best when marketing your company on social media. So, what type of unique content can you produce for social media to stand out?

Tudor Armand Ciuleanu, Founder of RebelDot, has been creating high-quality videos for their marketing strategies and it has performed well.

“Video is the best way to reach your audience and get your message across to viewers. We’ve been experimenting with video content on social media and we’ll continue to do so in order to get as many views as possible for our brand.”

(4) Keep Doing What We’ve Been Doing

Sean Chaudhary, the Founder of Alchemy Leads, will continue to do what he’s been doing on social media because, while it comes slowly, he can see the steady growth happening.

“If you compare 2021 to each year previous, I can see a steady growth across all of our social media channels. We are getting more engagement on our posts, our followers have increased, and we get more results from what we’re doing on social media, so we’ll keep doing what we’ve been doing because of the positive results we’ve seen.”

It can take a while for social media to bring results, so I can definitely agree with Sean here in saying we should all continue to grind it out and earn every like. Social media marketing isn’t going anywhere, so – regardless of your strategy – I recommend you keep pushing for results with your social media channels and it should pay off in time.

Social media marketing can be a powerful machine for your business, so have some fun in 2022 and do what it takes to get results.
