What is DRDO RAC?
Set up on 23 July 1985 after getting exemption from the purview of Union Public Service Commission, RAC is the Recruitment and Assessment Centre of DRDO. It is responsible for conducting all the recruitment related activities for DRDO. The primary responsibilities of RAC are Recruitment of Scientists, Assessments of Scientists of DRDO for promotion to the next higher grades, Selection of candidates for higher study course (ME/ M. Tech/ MSc Engg) under Research & Training Scheme of DRDO and Post Graduate Training scheme of Army, Navy and Air Force. 1. Join DRDO as Scientist

Every year Recruitment and Assessment Centre recruits Scientists in Defense Research and Development Service (DRDS) mostly at entry-level (Scientist ‘B’) through GATE. However, depending on the requirements in specialized areas of research & development, a limited number of scientists are also recruited in higher grades (Scientist ‘C’ to Scientist ‘H’). In the DRDO, Scientists are responsible for undertaking research, designing and development of components/ software/ systems/ materials/ products, simulation and modelling of process/ systems, testing, technical services, R&D and other task related to science and technology.
Eligibility Criteria
For getting into DRDO, you must fulfil specified eligibility criteria or requirements. Candidate must be an Indian Citizen. The maximum age limit for candidates to be recruited as Scientist ‘B’ is 28 years for Gen, 31 years for OBC, 33 years for SC/ST Candidate. Candidates should have passed a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology in Electronics and Communication/ Mechanical/ Computer Science & Engineering/ Electrical/ Aeronautical/ Chemical/ Textile/ Civil/ Metallurgy (Material Science & Engineering/Metallurgical Engineering). The best part is that the final year students are also eligible to apply.

2. Technician in DRDO

Candidate must be an Indian citizen. Must be 10th Pass at least 65% for Gen and 55% for SC/ST and must have ITI Diploma OR a National Trade Certificate OR National Apprenticeship Certificate. Candidates who completed their ITI Diploma in Automobile, Book Binder, COPA, Electrician, Motor Mechanic, Carpenter, DTP Operator, Turner, Electronics, Welder, Fitter, Medical Lab Technology, Draughtsman (ME), Mechanic (Diesel) and Machinist can apply for the technician in DRDO.
3. Admin & Allied (Non-Tech) Positions in DRDO
The selection of candidates for direct recruitment for Admin & Allied Cadre in DRDO is through Centre for Personnel Talent Management (CEPTAM). Stenographer, Store Assistant (Hind English Typing), Administrative assistant (Hindi, English typing), Halwai, Fire Engine Driver, Clerk, Fireman and Vehicle Operator are all non-tech essential vacancies. They all are different and have their own responsibility but as common, they all are responsible for all the official work which is essential to operate any organisation.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidate must be as an Indian citizen. Age should be between 18 to 27 years (Age Relaxation is Applicable as per the govt. Rules). Candidates must be 10+2 from any recognized board for Stenographer Grade-2 (English Typing), Administrative Assistant ‘A’ (English Typing), Administrative Assistant ‘A’ (Hindi Typing), Store Assistant ‘A’ (English Typing), Store Assistant ‘A’ (Hindi Typing), Security Assistant ‘A’ post.
