Features of a public cloud

Cloud Computing Provider

Introduction

Public Cloud is a platform that uses standard cloud computing models to create resources – such as virtual machines, applications or storage – available to users remotely.  Public cloud services can be offered for free or through various subscription or on-demand pricing plans, including pay-per-use models.

The main benefits of public cloud are:

1-Organizations need less to invest and retain their own on-premises IT resources;

2-Scalability to meet workload and user demands;  And

3- Less wasted resources because customers only pay for what they use.

What is a public cloud

Public Cloud is an alternative application development approach to traditional on-premises IT architectures. In the basic public cloud computing model, a third-party provider hosts scalable, on-demand IT resources and distributes them to users over a network connection, either over the public Internet or a dedicated network.

Public Cloud Features:

Public cloud architecture is a multi-tenant type. This architecture allows one user to share resources while keeping data separate from other users. High speed data transmission depends on network connectivity. It can be used at the same time to be cost effective as well as to collect large data resources. Public Cloud enables us to remotely access the cloud from any device. Because of this, the device often requires little calculation or sometimes no calculation at all. The structure of public clouds depends on the infrastructure provided. Brief description of the three most used models available in the market:

1. Sauce:

In the software as a service (SaaS) cloud model, the software hosted in the cloud is distributed by the provider and the user accesses the application via the Internet.  So the user does not need to install application software on his system. This leads to a reduction in hardware and therefore a reduction in maintenance costs.

2. Pass

Platform as a Service (PaaS) In the cloud model, the organization can develop software regardless of the type of infrastructure and infrastructure. The service provider provides an excellent environment that can include version control and is distributed over a broadband connection.

3. LaaS

In the Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) cloud model, the entire data is outsourced to the cloud service provider through the organization. Everything from application hardware to network hardware is hosted on the server side and service virtualization is maintained. This simplifies the cloud adoption process. laaS makes it easy to adapt to the cloud. Because everything is hosted on the server side, this model is cheaper than others, reducing the cost of hardware and maintenance.

Advantages of Public Cloud:

1-  The main benefits of the public cloud are mentioned below.

2-  It helps organizations reduce investment and maintenance costs.

3-  User demands can be easily met with scalability.

4-  Waste of resources

5-  High reliability

Disadvantages of public cloud:

1-Although the public cloud offers a variety of benefits, it has its limitations. The disadvantages of public cloud are as follows:

2- Because the cloud infrastructure is practically owned and controlled by others, the controls are limited to the user.

3-  Regulations such as HIPAA and PCI DSS are difficult to implement in the public cloud and often require hybrid solutions.

4- There may be data privacy issues.

5- Limited control over the layout of the infrastructure

Conclusion

Various tools for analysis and monitoring through public cloud computing have also been provided. As service providers improve their service portfolios and support, and with the addition of applications comprising edge computing, machine learning, artificial intelligence and IoT, the adoption of public cloud deployment models has increased significantly. The next wave of public cloud computing includes more automated, granular and interconnected services to cater to a wider range of users.
