How To Use Inbound Marketing To Reach Millennials

Social Media Marketing

No matter what your product or service, you need to be reaching millennials. They are set to be the largest living generation at some point in the next year or two.

Those born between 1981 and 1996 are the generation that receive a lot of flack, but they are more savvy than previous generations in many ways. They are tough to market to for this reason.

Ironically, they don’t mind being marketed to when it is relevant to something they want or are interested in. Which means that you can reach them if you know how. And if you can tap into this market, you are likely to have a lot of success.

In this article, I will go over some of the ways that you can use inbound marketing to reach millennials and convert them.

Use social media

Social media is a great and cost effective way to get your brand in front of the right eyes. But, you have to know which platform to use.

There are so many out there that it isn’t possible to have a campaign running on dozens of them. You have to go where the millennials are if you want to use your time and money wisely with social media.

Though Youtube is effective, you may be better off using TikTok as that has proven to be a big hit with younger users than Youtube.

Stay away from Facebook as millennials rarely use it and it is hard to reach them there.

Whichever platform you go with, make sure your content is genuine. Millennials can smell overselling a mile away and will tune out your message if it isn’t sincere.

Use good design

Your website will need to be done with good design with an intuitive user interface. A website geared towards millennials should be able to quickly grab their attention and keep them on the site.

It will need to be clear from the instant they land on your site what the site is about and how it will benefit them to be there. And that comes from having a clean and fast loading landing page.

The website needs to be mobile responsive and also look great on small devices. More millennials use their phones to browse the internet and if your site doesn’t look good on mobile it may as well not exist.

SMS marketing

Seeing as how more people are using their phone for online purchases, it pays to use SMS to reach them where you know you will have their attention.

You can use it to educate on your product or service, send them coupon codes or ask them to take a survey. If you want instant feedback then the survey is a great way to understand if your product is resonating with them or not.

If you have a local business then it is good to have them use location sharing so they can see when they are near your store through alerts and for asking them for a review if they have been to your location.
