Due to the new global disease, online businesses have met a noticeable expansion. Dropshipping is not an exception. However, the growth of the Shopify dropshipping business has been rather slight. Dropshipping products have not changed much; the growth has been less than 1%.

Shopify dropshipping stores have grown at a rate of more than 1%. It means that more dropshipping stores are out there since the pandemic started.

Statistic #2: Dropshipping’s market share in Shopify based on the number of dropshipped products

In terms of the number of dropshipped products that make a store a dropshipping one, there are 3 variants.

If we consider a store to be a dropshipper in case at least 1 product or 5% of its products are dropshipped, the growth rates of stores with these two variants are almost similar. In the past four years, stores with these two characteristics have had a rise from 5% to more than 10% of all Shopify stores.

Now, if we consider stores with at least 50% of their products dropshipped as dropshippers, the picture changes. Back in 2017, less than 5% of all Shopify stores used to have this characteristic. Today the number is grown to 10%.

Looking for a dropshipping supplier? You should know that the competition is tough. Oberlo, Printful, Printify, Customcat, Teelaunch, Spocket, Retail Express, Dsers, and many more are fighting for first place in the business.

Among all these rivals, Oberlo is the one with the highest market share, more than 31%. Printful with 25% of the market share takes second place.

There is a close race among the rest. Printify, Customcat, Teelaunch, Spocket, Dsers, and Spod make up 14% of the market share altogether.

Spocket with 1.5% of the market share is way behind Oberlo. However, it is growing.

Printful, Printify, and Spocket share the market with Shopify stores that are dropshipping and using multiple platforms at the same time. For example, more than 6% of Spocket’s market is similar to 0.43% of Printful.

Oberlo and Printful share about 3% of their market. Printful and Printify as the second and third big suppliers, share a big part. More than 22% of Printify and almost 7% of Printful are similar.

Spocket and Printify share a small part of their market as well.

It’s no surprise that Clothing products are the most popular among Shopify stores (Source), with more than 20% of the market share, are currently the most popular dropshipped products of Shopify stores. Home & Garden with 14.4% and Jewelry & Watches with 11.9% are the two next popular categories. Fashion Accessories and Health & Beauty with 7.6% share the same place. First of all, let’s talk about clothing. About ¼ of the products on Oberlo and Spocket are clothing products. Oberlo with 30% of clothing products is our clothing queen! However, most clothing dropshipping stores are using Spocket.

Since 2017, the amount of Clothing products being dropshipped in Shopify stores has increased significantly.

Here are the next few items in order of growth rate: Home & Garden, Jewelry & Watches, Fashion Accessories, Health & Beauty, Food & Beverages, and so on.

The best way to determine which Shopify dropshipping store has the best position in the market is by checking the Alexa rank. There is no other set formula to determine which Shopify stores are the most successful and how much money they are making.

Though Alexa ranking is not the best indicator for a store’s success, it does give us an idea of how each dropshipping platform is doing.

UK with 9.1%, Canada with 8%, and Australia with 7.4% of the market share are the next 3 locations with the most Shopify dropshipping stores.
