Include multiple js files using jQuery $.getScript() method

jQuery scroll to element

The jQuery getScript() method is used to Include multiple js files i.e. load and execute a JavaScript from the server using an AJAX HTTP GET request.

The method returns XMLHttpRequest object and the callback is fired once the script has been loaded, but not necessarily executed.

Syntax of getScript:

$(selector).getScript(url,success(response,status))
$.getScript( "test.js", function( data, textStatus, jqxhr ) {
console.log( data );
});

Suppose we have following code named check.js

function CheckEnabled(){
alert("JavaScript is enabled.");
}

Following is a simple example of the usage of this method:

<script type = "text/javascript" language = "javascript">
$(document).ready(function() {
$.getScript('check.js', function(jd) {
CheckJS();
});
});
</script>

By default, $.getScript() method sets the cache setting to false. This appends a timestamped query parameter to the request URL for ensuring that browser downloads the script each time it is requested.
But, you can override this feature by setting the cache property globally using $.ajaxSetup() method:

$.ajaxSetup({
cache: true
});
