Brahmatal trek is known to be the one of the most enchanting treks of the state and the country as well. It is a great winter trek for all the mountain lovers and also the trekkers. One starts their journey from Kathgodam and makes their way through the beautiful sceneries of this region. One has to travel a distance of 225KMs and reach Lohajung to start their amazing and thrilling trek.

The trek consists of various stop points and the trek is usually done for 5-6 hours covering a distance of 8KMs on an average.

On the fifth day, one starts their return journey from Brahmatal to Lohajung covering the same route.

Since the trek is usually preferred in winters the temperature there ranges from 0 -2 degree Celsius and can even reach upto -5 to -10 degrees.

About the Trek

One over all covers the distance of 22KMs and treks the altitude of 12,150 ft above the sea level.

The trek is not as difficult and can even be trekked by the fit beginner trekkers.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included if one has signed for the package. And, the meals are entirely vegetarian.

Things to Carry

One is advised to wear some nice sports shoes and carry their water bottles along with them.

One should wear warm and comfortable clothes which are suitable for you to match the weather condition as the temperature can even sometimes drop to -5 to -10 degrees in that place. One should pay attention to the instructors and the guides and consumption of alcohol or any other intoxicants is prohibited.

One shouldn’t do trekking at night. And also should carry some basic medications with them. Energy bars are recommended to carry during the trek and also one should bring a surplus amount of moisturizer, lotion, sunscreen with them. One is also advised to wear the sunglasses during the daytime and since the place is an eco friendly zone, the villagers and the local town people do not encourage nor entertain people littering in the sites or near the campsites.

If one wants to visit any religious pilgrim, one should follow the proper to dress code so as to not hurt the sentiments of the local people.

One is also advised to take a proper consultation from the physician before starting the journey.

The trekkers and the travellers are also advised to carry some medical ailments. One is advised to follow the guidelines of the state governments.
