However, you might encounter that most of the branded accounts do not use more than 9 hashtags per post. Experts also say that it is fine to use a maximum of 11 hashtags. 

Mistake 4: Having No Strategic Plan

Whether it is operating a business or marketing a business, you must have a proper plan. You just can not do this and that and expect promising results. You need to select the route for reaching the destination. 

Plus, to reach there faster, you also need to decide the shortest route and plan it properly. Only a strategically developed plan can help you reach your goals.

Another major mistake Instagram marketers make is ignoring the data of Instagram analytics, but the social media marketing game is actually being played on the basis of correct data. 

You must know the analytics and the data about the engagement rate of your Instagram marketing strategy. Otherwise, you will not be able to make the needed changes to your strategy. 

Mistake 6: Inconsistent Branding

Your Instagram profile is just one part of an entire brand ecosystem. You Might Have a website along with other social media handles and also might have a physical store. All these elements must have a consistent thread for tying them together. 

Your Instagram profile must have your logo. All the elements must share a similar visual style along with an editorial tone. This is the basis of any brand.  

Mistake 7: Not Using Instagram Stories

Social media marketers already have a lot of things on their plate, and Instagram has a number of things lined up for soon release. But, if still, you are not taking advantage of Instagram stories, you are actually missing out a lot. 

You might not know, but you are actually losing the opportunity to reach around 500 million users who use Instagram on a daily basis.
