Magento 1 Vs Magento 2

Share

Ever since the release of Magento 2, online store owners have been questioning whether they should migrate from their current version to the latest. Although Magento 2 promises a variety of new and improved features, there are still concerns about upgrading to the new setup – which requires developing familiarity with a whole set of new features.

Although Magento 1 houses all of the basics required for steady ecommerce operations, it still lacks in a few departments. Magento 2 was designed to counter those issues. It was released with the objectives to enhance user experience, provide a more engaging environment and smoother navigation for online shoppers. Furthermore, Magento 2 is compatible with the latest frameworks and provides improved page caching. One of the major upgrades in the new version is the increased page loading speed. Due to the new coding, processing has become significantly faster and page loading speed has increased by 50%. With the new setup,a single page load in a maximum of 2 seconds, and the checkout speed is also reportedly increased by 38%. These new improvements have drastically decreased page abandonment rates, which were previously caused by slow loading speed and delayed check out processing. The new modified Magento is capable of handling more load by taking up 2.1 million more page visitors and 117% more product orders than the previous version.

However, Magento 2 has a lot more to offer beside better speed. User data and payment gateways are more secure than ever, with security improvements being a key feature in the new version. In addition, SEO proficiency and improved back end interface also provide better usability with Magento 2. With its superior SEO features, sites rank better on search engines and due to the setup’s improved back office, navigation as well as customization has become simpler. All these new elements combine to help your site achieve higher conversion rates and an increase in revenue.
